Ed Chivers About Independent Seniors Guide

Independence and safety, working together, for a lifetime of independence.

As a fellow senior, I understand the impact of aging, whether it's fumbling with reading glasses to make out the buttons on the TV remote, painful joints, or not being quite so nimble as I used to be. Ageing well isn't always easy.

My desire to help others, paired with a background in technology, has already changed things for seniors in my own community. At my local computer club, I taught seniors aged 60 to 95 how to use laptops, iPads and iPhones, to send emails, document family history, create slideshows, edit photos and manage a budget. My goal with these books is the same: to help seniors, and their adult children, make informed decisions that improve personal safety, protect independence, and keep the golden years genuinely enjoyable.

Living independently in your golden years should be a time of joy and confidence, and staying that way means always considering your personal safety. I know how important it is to balance independence with sensible precautions and reliable support systems.

My focus is to empower you to live confidently: practical tips and guides to reduce the risk of accidents around the home or while out and about, and to be prepared for unexpected health events. Whether it's a minor fall, a health concern, or simply needing assistance, my guides are built so you're never truly alone, and can get help when it's needed, especially in an emergency.

Because living independently doesn't mean living without support. Let's create a safer, more confident approach to independent senior living, together.

"Being prepared isn't about limiting independence, it's about ensuring it continues."
— Ed Chivers, Founder, Independent Seniors Guide
